Dr Graham Hill is a public administrator with over 30 years of experience in legal practice. His areas of practice have included civil litigation, administrative law, constitutional law, dispute resolution, and employment law. He also has extensive experience in developing policy and in providing high-level policy advice to ministers, and had outstanding success in strategic leadership, people management and in relationship management.
Dr Hill was a senior leader in the Victorian public service. He spent two and a half years in a deputy secretary role leading courts' administration in Victoria. Dr Hill is also a strong lawyer with experience as a partner in a Melbourne law firm, and as general counsel to a Victorian Government Department. He was the director of Legal Aid Tasmania, a position he has held since 2014, and became chief executive of Legal Aid Western Australia from May 2018 to May 2023. Dr Hill became Western Australia’s State Solicitor from 29 May 2023, a position appointed by the Director General of the Western Australian Department of Justice.
