Gerry Hanssen has over 50 years of experience in the construction industry. He is actively involved in the community and is a member of several associations.

Mr Hanssen was born in the Netherlands where he studied in construction and gained a Diploma in Building. His love of challenge and excitement led him to Australia on a working holiday visa. After many years of working in various construction roles in Perth and regional Australia, Mr Hanssen decided it was time to start his own company and Hanssen Pty Ltd commenced in 1992. The first project was the Lions Eye Institute in Nedlands where Mr Hanssen worked closely with Professor Ian Constable AO and his team to design and construct the leading research facility.
