Gerard McMahon qualified as a barrister in Hong Kong and in New South Wales. Mr McMahon specialises in company law, securities and banking law and takeovers and mergers regulations.
He was senior executive director and member of the Hong Kong Securities & Futures Commission ('SFC') from 1989 to 1996, and representative of the SFC on the Hong Kong Standing Committee on Company Law Reform.
Mr McMahon is independent non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee of Guangnan (Holdings), a company listed on HKEx; director and chair of Oriental Technologies Investment, a company listed on ASX; and non-executive director and chair of Indonesian Investment Fund, a company listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.
