Fred Chaney is the founding principal of Chaney Architecture. He is an architect with wide experience in the commercial and institutional construction sectors.
Prior to the establishment of Chaney Architecture, he was a director of a major national practice based first in Melbourne and later in Perth. Mr Chaney is chair of the UWA-affiliated Australian Urban Design and Research Centre and a former board member of the Green Building Council of Australia.
In 1991, he gained a Masters in Architectural History and Theory from the University of Cambridge. He has remained active in architectural education throughout his professional career and since graduating, he has taught at The University of Western Australia, Curtin University, RMIT and the University of Melbourne.
