Frank Costa AO OAM was the proprietor of the Costa Group business (including predecessor holding entities), and was at the forefront of developing and building Costa into a major horticultural company since 1959.
Mr Costa was the president of the Geelong Football Club from 1998 to 2011, and a director of numerous companies in connection with the Costa family businesses.
In 1997, Mr Costa was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to youth and to the community of Geelong. In 2015, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the community of Geelong through ongoing roles and contributions to a range of sports, business, religious, medical, educational and social welfare organisations. In 2001, Mr Costa was awarded the Centenary Medal for service to the Barwon community, and the Australian Sports Medal for services to Australian football.
Mr Costa passed away in May 2021.
