Fernando Fajardo has extensive experience in managing major tunnelling projects, including high-speed and metropolitan rail networks. In Spain, he was the project director of the Pajares Tunnel - a 25 kilometre, AUD$1.3 billion high speed rail tunnel that at the time was the seventh-longest in the world. He also managed several major civil projects for the Madrid to Barcelona high speed rail line and for the Madrid Metro. Mr Fajardo has postgraduate qualifications in engineering and business, and is a board member on several national peak construction industry bodies including the Australian Constructors Association, Infrastructure Partnerships Australia and Roads Australia. He is also vice president on the executive committee of the Queensland Major Constructors Association.
