Fabio Granitzio is a qualified geologist with a PhD in mineral prospecting and has almost two decades of continuous experience in exploration and mining geology. He has a wealth of experience in senior roles involved with project evaluation and production management of gold, base metals and industrial minerals across Europe, Latin America, Africa, Middle East and Australia. Mr Granitzio was group exploration manager of KEFI Minerals for 6 years and chief executive of the Gold and Minerals LLC joint venture, Saudi Arabia. He was also responsible for generating new opportunities for the Italian industrial minerals group Gruppo Minerali Maffei throughout Europe, Latin America, North Africa, Asia Minor and Australia, as well as assessing and managing projects from grassroots exploration through to the feasibility stage. Mr Granitzio is an Italian citizen and hails from Sardinia, where he studied geology at Cagliari University and completed his doctoral research on goldcopper
epithermal systems. He then studied these systems in detail at Antofagasta and the Escondida copper project in Chile. Following this, his exploration work included involvement in the discovery of the Monte Ollasteddu gold deposit (Sardinia) and as mine and exploration manager of Süd Chemie (Sardinian subsidiary of Societa Sarda Bentonite), and resource evaluations on similar prospects in Mexico, Morocco and Turkey.
