Don O'Brien

For more than 30 years, Don O'Brien has been advising large organisations on tax and commercial issues for a diverse client base across industries from real estate and construction, manufacturing, retail, gaming and betting. He has extensive experience in tax advocacy and specialises in domestic and international tax planning, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and capital gains tax. Mr O'Brien is the leader for the real estate and construction industry group for Grant Thornton Sydney and provides taxation services to clients across construction, building, engineering, infrastructure, property services and property trusts. He is regularly assisting taxpayers in dispute resolution and negotiation with tax authorities, and is an international tax planning specialist. Mr O'Brien was a past executive member of the International Tax Committee for a world-wide accounting firm. He moved to Grant Thornton Perth in June 2017 and became managing partner.
