Originally from Guernsey in the British Channel Islands, Denise Cheir has held leadership and management roles for high profile brands within the public and private sectors. Her extensive experience includes fundraising, marketing, communications, community engagement, commercial negotiation and corporate governance.
In Guernsey, she was head of consumer marketing at Guernsey Tourism before moving back to Perth where she joined Crown Perth as general manager of public relations, assuming responsibility for all external communications, media and publicity, issues and crisis management, stakeholder relations, sponsorship, corporate affairs and internal communications. It was a role she held for 12 years. Ms Cheir became the director of marketing and fundraising for Perron Institute in February 2021.
Highly networked in both the corporate and community sectors, Ms Cheir is an astute businesswoman and mentor, a broker of ideas and an experienced, mature and focused solutions-based negotiator. She also contributes to a variety of charities and is involved in her local community of Subiaco.
