Since admission to practice in 2004, Daniel Costanzo has developed specialised and far-reaching experience in general insurance law practice, with particular expertise in workers’ compensation and common-law claims. Mr Costanzo is experienced in effectively handling all aspects of claims including matters involving complex and contentious issues together with serious and catastrophic injuries, contractual and indemnity disputes, as well as multi-party litigation and recovery proceedings. This includes appearing as counsel at WorkCover and the District and Supreme Courts of Western Australia, in addition to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Mr Costanzo acts on behalf of major insurers, insured employers and self-insured entities. He is highly regarded for his claims management skills and his ability to ensure that clients are strategically positioned to achieve the most commercial outcome. In addition to his comprehensive experience in negotiating the resolution of claims and his strong litigation skills, Mr Costanzo is highly regarded for providing detailed written advice to clients covering issues of evidence, liability, indemnity and policy/contract interpretation, claim strategy and quantum/assessment of damages. He also provides additional support to clients by providing training and conducting workshops for insurers, employers, brokers and legal practitioners that are tailored to their specific needs and requirements. Mr Costanzo is a committee member of the Young Insurance Professionals, an Australia-wide organisation.
