D'Shorne Human

D'Shorne Human holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Pretoria and is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and an Associate Chartered Management Account with over 12 years of postgraduate experience in the resources sector. After completing his audit articles at Deloitte & Touche in New York, he joined BHP Billiton in 2006 and gained extensive experience in production, treasury, marketing and accounting functions of the group across commodities such as coal, base metals and aluminium. Prior to leaving BHP Billiton, Mr Human spent a year implementing controls and improving finance process efficiencies in Africa, especially the DRC, Gabon and Burundi. After spending a few years in the heavy construction industry as compliance manager and South African treasurer at French-listed Alstom, Mr Human returned to the mining industry as group financial manager for Total’s coal mining division in South Africa. He was head of finance for the African operations of an Australian manufacturing company, Ampcontrol. During his tenure there, he was a key member of the executive team managing the South African and Botswana entities.
