Claire MacMillan is an experienced commercial litigation and insurance lawyer. She has acted in a range of commercial disputes including property and construction disputes, class actions, contractual disputes, disputes arising out of the sale of businesses, defamation proceedings and product liability litigation. She regularly defends auditors, accountants, financial advisers, brokers, engineers, architects, real estate professionals and valuers against professional negligence claims. Ms MacMillan provides defence and coverage advice to local and Lloyd’s of London insurers, as well as third party claims administrators concerning professional indemnity, management liability, D&O and property damage claims. She has appeared in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts in WA; in the District and Supreme Courts in NSW; Federal Court and High Court; and the Independent Commission Against Corruption in NSW. Ms MacMillan has also acted in criminal proceedings against company directors and senior government employees charged with criminal offences.
