Cinzia Burnes has travel sector and management experience, commencing her career in the travel industry in 1982.
After working as a travel wholesaler in Italy for 9 years, Mrs Burnes spent over 26 years growing AOT from a safari operator into one of Australasia's travel distribution businesses. The AOT Group was privately-owned by Mrs Burnes and her husband Andrew until its merger with Helloworld Travel Limited in February 2016.
She was a director of Tourism Victoria from 2013 to 2015, a board member of Health Services Australia from 2005 to 2007 and the Australian Tourist Commission from 2001 to 2004. During 2018, Mrs Burnes became a member of the Beyond Tourism 2020 Committee which was initiated by the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Mr Ciobo, to design Australia's next tourism strategy.
