Carine Cruise has extensive experience in front-end construction work with particular emphasis on the procurement and contracting of major infrastructure projects, where she has undertaken complex negotiations and drafted a wide range of construction contracts and related project documents. She also advises on the legal and commercial issues which arise during the life of a project including appropriate procurement models for project delivery (traditional, PPP and project alliances), funding models, tender evaluation, risk mitigation, operations, maintenance, legislative and regulatory issues. Ms Cruise has acted for government and private sector clients across a range of industry sectors including port, rail, mining, engineering, education, primary industry, transport and logistics. She was involved in domestic arbitrations and litigation in the Federal and State Supreme Courts arising out of construction projects. She has made, and responded to, adjudication applications under the Construction Contracts Act (WA) and dealt with appeals from, and the enforcement of, such determinations. Ms Cruise also has corporate advisory experience including listing public companies, fund raising, corporate regulation and governance, insolvency, reconstruction, recovery and security enforcement. She developed her practice at a top tier firm in Perth for over 16 years before joining Clyde & Co in 2014.
