Brett Cottle

Mr Cottle was the Chief Executive of Australasian Performing Right Association Ltd (APRA) for 28 years until stepping down in June 2018. For the last 21 of those years he also held the position of Chief Executive of Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society Ltd (AMCOS) following the merger of back offices of those organisations in 1997. He was a Director of the Australian Copyright Council and was a Member of the Copyright Law Review Committee. Between 1991 and 2018 he was also a Director of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) and is the only Australian to have served as Chair of that international body, a position he held between 2005 and 2010. He is a member of the Risk committee.
