Brenden Kelly is a Registered Architect. Having worked in the industry for over 25 years on projects within Australia, Singapore, UK and Bulgaria, his broad skill base is utilised across all phases of architecture from conceptual design through to project delivery. He has particular expertise in the leadership and management of truly collaborative and often joint venture design teams for large complex projects delivered via alternative procurement methodologies – ECI, PPP, novated D&C and alliance contracts.
Since 2006, Mr Kelly has been a principal at HASSELL and was appointed a board director in July 2017. Since 2013, he has been a key design team member of the nearly completed new Perth Stadium project and is also involved in the New Museum for WA as a director of the HASSELL + OMA joint venture. Prior to that, his focus has been leading design teams and delivering other large complex projects. Between 2008 and 2013, Mr Kelly led the HASSELL team on the A$2 billion Fiona Stanley Hospital - the largest single building project undertaken by the WA state government. His role included project responsibilities across the public domain for the 32 hectare site, the shell and core of the main 643 bed hospital building, the 140-bed State Rehabilitation Service and 30-bed Mental Health Unit.
His experience also extends to the education, commercial and hospitality sectors including projects such as University Hall Student Accommodation at UWA, Charles Darwin University Chancellery Building and Sky City Casino Expansion.
