Barry Finch OAM has been working in the education sector for over 30 years.
His teaching career started in the Kimberley, in a remote Indigenous junior high school. From that experience, and a few short stints in the mainstream education sector, before joining Port School in 2001 as a workshop teacher and becoming its principal in 2010.
In June 2022, Mr Finch was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to at-risk youth, and to education.
