Anthony Nielson has over 20 years of experience in chartered accounting, banking and corporate financial roles; including 15 years in the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry.
Mr Nielson joined Santos as chief financial officer in 2016 and was responsible for the finance, tax, treasury and investor relations’ functions. He became chief commercial officer in January 2022. Prior to joining Santos, Mr Neilson was chief executive of Roc Oil Company, which was acquired in 2014 by Hong Kong-listed investor Fosun International Limited. He was also chief financial officer of ROC and held commercial, finance and business services roles at Caltex Australia, Credit Suisse First Boston in London and Arthur Andersen in Sydney.
Mr Neilson holds a Masters of Business Administration from AGSM, is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
