Andrew Greenwood was a Federal Court judge and regarded as one of the nation’s most outstanding commercial law judges. He has made significant and sustained contributions to The University of Queensland and the community.
Mr Greenwood was admitted to practice in February 1976 and appointed a partner at the age of 28. For over 30 years, he had practised extensively in commercial litigation, intellectual property, and competition law in Queensland. In 1995, Mr Greenwood was selected by Federal Treasury on behalf of the Council of Australian Governments to brief each State and Territory Government on the transition for each jurisdiction to the National Competition Policy Reforms recommended by the Hilmer Report. He was elevated to the Bench as a Federal Court Judge in 2005 and retired after 17 years of service in July 2022.
