Mr Barrios was subsequently appointed chief commercial officer in March 2021.
Prior to his tenure at Rio Tinto, Mr Barrios held various leadership positions at BP including as executive director and executive vice president, Downstream, at TNK-BP, based in Moscow, where he was directly responsible for the refining, trading, supply, logistics, and marketing businesses.
