Set up in 1992 by University of WA psychology graduate Brent Stewart, Market Equity began as a simple home office with one employee. In 2005, by then Perth's biggest market research and marketing agency, Market Equity, was bought by Synovate, a subsidiary of London-based Aegis Group plc, for a reported $28 million. Ipsos Group acquired Synovate in 2011.
