Laurance Wines was founded in 2001 when Dianne and Peter Laurance bought it as a family retreat. Its first wine was released in 2002. The Caves Road site became a well known landmark due to a statute of a woman atop a high column. In 2016, Mr Laurance's Pivot Group sold the winery to a US-based investor, New York-based real estate developer, philanthropist and wine enthusiast Howard Milstein, in a deal worth $20 million.
Part of the Laurance property was leased to winemaker Larry Cherubino Wines.
