Jason Crusan is a globally recognised technology executive whose NASA career included directing the Advanced Exploration Systems Division and architecting NASA’s current return-to-Moon strategy. He led the mission that discovered water ice on the Moon — a finding that fundamentally changed the economics and architecture of space exploration.
As the architect of In-Situ Resource Utilisation strategy, Crusan drove the paradigm shift from launching everything from Earth to building infrastructure that stays in the field, gets serviced on location, and breaks the logistics chain entirely. This work positioned the Moon as a production hub to enable Mars exploration.
Before joining AROSE (Australian Remote Operations for Space and Earth), Jason led Woodside Energy’s technology and new energy divisions. At AROSE, he bridges Earth and space, connecting Australia’s deep operational expertise in mining and energy with the challenges of exploration beyond our planet.
Jason keynotes at GRX26 (the Global Resources Innovation Expo) on Thursday 7 May 2026, presenting “Breaking the Logistics Chain: What Lunar Resource Extraction Teaches Us About Mining on Earth” on the Main Stage at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.
