As a leader in end-to-end energy and sub-metering solutions in Western Australia, EnergyTec’s new energy and utility portal, Pharos, is offering the WA property sector a new era in energy analytics.
Pharos is designed to revolutionise how clients can access and manage their energy and utility allocation data with unparalleled utility data capture that simplifies energy management.
The new portal comes at a crucial moment in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, in time with the upcoming proposed Embedded Network Code of Practice (ENCOP) and mandatory climate reporting requirements are set to take effect in 2025.
“Over the past few years, we have been closely monitoring two significant pending industry changes which will change the way our clients operate – the proposed Embedded Network Code of Practice and the pending mandatory climate reporting,” EnergyTec Managing Director Damien Moran explained.
ENCOP is a regulatory framework to govern the operation of embedded networks which deliver electricity to customers within a network or grid located inside a property boundary, such as apartment blocks, office towers or shopping centres.
As these imminent regulatory changes approach, the new portal addresses the pressing need for more insight into utility usage and financial reporting within embedded networks.
“Pharos centralises property data usage and financials, providing clients with simplified access to vital reports and analytics, with a focus on simplifying and improving energy management,” Mr Moran said.
Pharos enables clients more control over their utility usage patterns and data in a consolidated platform with enhanced reporting and analytics. “This new utility portal has been developed to transition our core services report delivery from email-based to web-based to deliver more value for our clients with access to comprehensive utility statistics and financial analysis,” Mr Moran added.
Tailored for property portfolio managers
Named after the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria – one of the Seven Wonders of the World – Pharos embodies the company’s mission to “shine a light” on the complexities of energy consumption.
Designed specifically for clients managing diverse property portfolios, Pharos consolidates energy usage data into an intuitive platform with all the clients’ property energy data housed under one dashboard.
The intuitive interface allows users to easily navigate and manage their portfolio’s utility consumption and renewables generation where in place, between each property. “Pharos puts information at a client’s fingertips, making it easier to manage and retrieve essential data all in one place,” Mr Moran said.
Reporting is easily generated and exported as PDFs, facilitating straightforward communication with stakeholders and tenants.
“Pharos will be able to assist in providing reports to clients who in turn can share with their clients or potentially give them access to certain sections of the Pharos portal,” Mr Moran added.
Meeting regulatory requirements
The upcoming changes in the regulatory landscape, including mandatory climate reporting requirements are holding businesses accountable for their climate-related financial risks, carry a more sophisticated approach to energy reporting.
Companies will face increased scrutiny over their carbon emissions, requiring robust internal systems for tracking and verifying emissions data. The portal not only provides efficient reporting processes but also supports and empowers clients and their tenants to better achieve their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting standards and obligations.
Pharos facilitates detailed reporting on energy consumption and emissions from utility usage, aligning with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) guidelines and will be able to assist in providing various reports to comply with ESG reporting.
“The proposed changes will likely result in more granular and accurate carbon data being reported. Companies will need to track emissions across their operations more thoroughly, including indirect and downstream emissions," Mr Moran said.
Carbon accounting will become a more integral part of a company’s ESG strategy, as emissions data and progress towards sustainability targets become a major factor for investors, regulators and customers.
“Pharos will be able to assist in providing detailed reports on a regular basis or in line with a business’s financial reporting guidelines and will be instrumental in providing the reports our clients need to comply with these regulations,” Mr Moran said.
With a focus on enhanced data analytics, compliance management and transparency, Pharos is set to be a gamechanger in how organisations manage their energy consumption and reporting, enabling companies to navigate the complexities of climate-related regulations effectively.
Operating for 30 years, EnergyTec services thousands of properties across Perth, regional WA, and nationally, and is proud to be Western Australia’s leading fee for service embedded network specialists renowned for delivering reliable and accurate utility data in a demanding energy market.
“EnergyTec is excited to lead the charge towards a more efficient and transparent future in utility management,” Mr Moran added.
