Dalaroo Metals is charging ahead with a high-octane 2026 exploration blitz at its flagship Blue Lagoon critical minerals project in Greenland, hot on the heels of a knockout reconnaissance program in 2025. Results from that work have lit a fire under the stock, positioning Dalaroo as a serious contender in the global scramble for secure, conflict-free supplies of rare earths, zirconium, hafnium and niobium.
Dalaroo Metals has slammed its foot on the accelerator, unveiling plans for a high-octane 2026 exploration blitz on its flagship Blue Lagoon critical minerals project in Greenland, hot on the heels of some knockout results gathered from a maiden reconnaissance campaign last year.
With global supply chains scrambling for secure, conflict-free sources of critical minerals, the company says it's moving quickly to chase continuity at depth, de-risk the system and elevate Blue Lagoon from an intriguing surface discovery into a genuine development-scale contender.
The maiden fieldwork delivered the goods in spades with 113 surface samples of rock-chip, sediment and lagoon-margin material along a well-defined, coherent 2.7-kilometre-long trend.
In a remarkable 100 per cent hit rate - the stuff junior explorers dream of - results included seriously anomalous values for a smorgasbord of rare earths, zirconium and niobium in every sample.
Peak assays hit up to 0.81 per cent total rare earth oxides (TREO), with standout heavy rare earth oxides (HREO) topping 600 parts per million (ppm) in multiple locations.
The rare earths are dominated by the valuable elements dysprosium and terbium, which are critical for manufacturing the strong, permanent magnets used in electric vehicle motors, wind turbine generators, and other renewable technologies.
Magnet rare earth oxides (MREO) clocked consistently at 25–29 per cent of TREO with a premium assemblage rich in neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium.
Hafnium also punched through strongly, with peaks up to 99ppm hafnium oxide and many results exceeding 40 ppm, underlining its strategic role in next-gen semiconductors, courtesy of its superior dielectric and thermal properties.
Zirconium showed muscle too, with earlier surface peaks around 4.42 per cent zirconium oxide, further complementing the element suite.
Crucially, uranium and thorium analyses have remained low and are well below Greenland's mandated 100ppm threshold, smoothing the regulatory path to any future development.
Intriguingly, finer sample size fractions point to a natural upgrading process, hinting at low-cost physical beneficiation potential – music to any developer's ears.
The findings lit a fire under the stock, which has surged as much as 156 per cent to 10.5 cents, catapulting the company into the global race for secure, conflict-free supplies of rare earths, zirconium, hafnium and niobium.
Dalaroo Metals chief executive officer John Morgan said: “Blue Lagoon has quickly emerged as a genuinely exciting critical minerals opportunity for Dalaroo. Our maiden 2025 field program exceeded expectations, delivering project-scale confirmation of REE, zirconium and niobium mineralisation across a coherent system extending approximately 2.7km.”
Dalaroo's Blue Lagoon is shaping up as a nimble, high-leverage play in Greenland's Gardar Alkaline Province, which already attracts intense international interest as host to world-class rare-earth systems such as Kvanefjeld, Tanbreez and Kringlerne.
The province itself is a classic rift-related igneous belt, forged during a period of intense magmatic activity more than a billion years ago that created ideal conditions for the enrichment of alkaline-hosted critical minerals.
Blue Lagoon sits on the western exposure of the massive Nunarsuit Complex, specifically within the Helene alkaline granite – textbook geology for concentrating rare earths, zirconium, hafnium and niobium and exactly the sort of address that has delivered some of Greenland’s biggest mineral endowments.
To build on the momentum generated by its new findings, Dalaroo's 2026 exploration season – slated for an early start and involving about two weeks of fieldwork – packs a serious punch.
The program will roll out a multi-pronged attack, including ground-penetrating radar surveys to map sediment thickness, stratigraphy and palaeochannel architecture across shoreline and lagoonal zones, probing to depths of up to about 20 metres.
Other work will test the lagoon depths with side-scan sonar or similar technology to gain insights into basin geometry, geomorphology and depositional insights.
The company also plans to conduct composite auger drilling across priority targets to assess the vertical continuity of mineralisation and its grade distribution. That work will then likely extend to detailed mineralogical and petrological sampling to investigate ore and gangue mineral relationships, textures and mineral liberation.
Dalaroo says it’s also intending to hold early metallurgical testwork discussions with a Perth consultancy to explore mineral recovery pathways.
The company’s new Greenland thrust anchors Dalaroo's evolution from an initially WA-focused base metals hopeful to a diversified critical minerals and gold story.
Listed in 2021, after raising $5 million at $0.20 via 25 million shares, the company debuted with its 437 square kilometre Namban nickel-copper-platinum group elements (PGE) project near Moora in WA’s West Yilgarn, about 80km north of Chalice's Julimar project.
The company also holds about 838 square kilometres of tenure at its Lyons River zinc-lead-copper-gold project in WA’s Gascoyne region.
Post-IPO exploration delivered early PGE hits at Namban and sulphide signatures at Lyons River, but market conditions prompted strategic pivots.
Dalaroo snapped up 100 per cent of Blue Lagoon in early January 2026 after an initial option and recently stole the spotlight with its scout exploration results.
The company also entertains gold ambitions in Côte d'Ivoire with four Birimian greenstone permits totalling about 1368 square kilometres. The exploration portfolio includes two granted areas at Djekanou and Yamoussoukro, which have cleared due diligence and have since been backed by a $1.35 million capital raise.
Dalaroo’s Board has seen recent changes to keep ahead of developments, too, with key 2025 moves including John Morgan stepping in as chief executive officer in May, followed by former chairman and non-executive director David Quinlivan's exit in November.
Additionally, Tim Wither's arrival as a non-executive director in November has brought in a seasoned mining executive with more than 20 years of global experience.
The new line-up now blends exploration nous, capital markets savvy and international experience, aligned to chase value through targeted acquisitions and disciplined fieldwork.
