ASX-listed Aruma Resources has appointed Glenn Grayson as the company’s new Managing Director where he will be responsible for the company’s ongoing exploration strategy effective from today.
Grayson replaces Aruma stalwart Peter Schwann who has led the company since it listed in 2010 and will continue to work in a capacity of Non-Executive Director.
The incoming Managing Director has worked at Aruma since October last year when he was appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Grayson has worked closely with Schwann to advance the company’s lithium and gold assets in Western Australia and has spent the past three months inspecting Aruma’s operations.
The explorer says Grayson has demonstrated his technical expertise and commitment to process and rigour on Aruma’s exploration strategy in addition to the planning and execution of its exploration programs.

The company notes Grayson has more than 27 years’ experience as a geologist in addition to a strong depth of technical expertise in gold exploration and development in Western Australia and Victoria. He has a proven history of generating resources and reserves through to mining operations.
Prior to joining Aruma Grayson was Exploration Manager for Kin Mining for five years where he helped advance a number of projects from prospect to mining proposal by instituting a technical approach to exploration.
Schwann was Managing Director of the company for almost 13 years where he managed and led the assessment, acquisition and pegging, in addition to subsequent exploration of numerous projects across a range of different minerals.
Prior to his role at Aruma Schwann had worked all facets of mineral exploration, company management and consulting. Early in his career he worked with some of Australia’s biggest companies exploring for nickel, iron ore, gold and mineral sands.
Schwann has also held project generation and evaluation roles with resource companies in Africa, Asia, Australia and Eastern Europe. He has participated in evaluations of precious and base metal deposits in Mexico, Africa, Madagascar, China and Kyrgyzstan.
Aruma has made a strong start to 2023 including receiving impressive assay results from its recent drill program at the company’s Mt Deans project near Kalgoorlie with 12 intercepts grading more than 1.5 per cent lithium-rubidium. In December the explorer quadrupled the greenstone belt width at its Salmon Gums gold project near Esperance to more than three kilometres and will vector in on new drill targets with an aerial survey of the 75 square kilometre patch within weeks.
