Detective Superintendent, Financial and Cyber Crime Division, Western Australia Police Force
Detective Superintendent Peter Foley leads the Financial and Cyber Crime Division. In this role, he provides strategic and operational oversight of the Financial Crime Squad, Proceeds of Crime Squad, Cybercrime Squad and Rural Crime Team.
Peter represents the Western Australia Police Force at a national level through several key forums operating under the National Serious and Organised Crime Coordinating Committee. He serves as deputy chair of the Financial Crime and Money Laundering Working Group and is a member of the National Cybercrime Working Group and the Sydney-based Joint Police Cyber Coordination Centre (JPC3) Steering Committee. These forums bring together policing jurisdictions, regulatory bodies and intelligence agencies to strengthen Australia’s coordinated response to serious and organised financial and cybercrime threats.
He also contributes to national public-private partnerships as a member of AUSTRAC’s Fintel Alliance Management Group and the Economic Crime Forum. These partnerships connect law enforcement, intelligence and regulatory agencies with Australia’s financial institutions to enhance collective capability, intelligence sharing and disruption of economic crime.
