As chief executive of Australia’s largest philanthropy, John leads Minderoo Foundation’s focus on building a bright future where people, communities and the environment can thrive.
Since becoming chief executive in 2022, John has embedded a systems-led approach, harnessing Minderoo’s philanthropic capital and expertise to drive lasting change.
Under John’s leadership, Minderoo has championed greater investment in early childhood development and education, delivered millions in humanitarian aid to Gaza and Ukraine, advanced marine genomics through the OceanOmics Centre at UWA, and built on strong WA partnerships, committing $30 million for WAAPA and $34.6 million for the Early Years Partnership with the WA Government.
As chief executive of Tattarang, John oversees one of Australia’s largest private investment groups, with assets across agri-food, energy, resources, property and health-tech. He is chairman of Squadron, Australia's largest renewable energy operator and developer, Wyloo, and R.M. Williams, driving for long-term investment and using capital as a force for good.
