Strickland Metals is pressing ahead with plans to spinoff its base metals assets into a new company to seek better value for the projects whilst focusing on its prospective gold package in central WA. The company has also gained heritage clearance to drill at its Iroquois project, which along with its Bryah Basin assets will be the centerpiece of the new operation.

Lindian Resources has received its first assays from the company's maiden campaign at its Kangankunde project in Malawi showing continuous rare earths mineralisation from surface across the length of both holes. Assay highlights include a 1m section recording an outstanding 11.8 per cent total rare earth oxide, or “TREO” from 13m with a second 1m section going 11.1 per cent TREO from 12m.

ASX listed Estrella Resources has completed the mining and crushing phase of its nickel sulphide extraction program using ore from its 5A nickel mine near Kambalda in WA. The company plans to treat the high-grade material at Glencore's Murrin Murrin facility after sealing an offtake and processing agreement late last year.

ASX-listed Okapi Resources has reinforced its uranium footprint in the United States after securing full ownership of 45 new mining claims and one State Mineral lease in Colorado. The acquisition stretches the boundaries of the company's Maybell uranium project where historical production tipped the scales at 5.3 million pounds of triuranium octoxide running a solid average grade of 1300 parts per million.

Neometals has extended a deal with Scandinavian battery metals firm Critical Metals until the end of February to give the company time to secure an increased vanadium source deal using by-product from Nordic steelmaker SSAB. A joint venture between Neometals and Critical Metals on its proposed vanadium recovery project is also progressing.

Meeka Metals has expanded the mineral resource at its Murchison gold project in outback WA to 1.2m ounces on the back of a 12 per cent increase to its Turnberry deposit in the historic gold-bearing region. The company is putting the finishing touches on a prefeasibility study with an eye to join several players mining in the region.

Radiopharm Theranostics has been given the keys to the United States outpatient clinics to begin imaging trials of patients with pancreatic cancer after receiving the tick of approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for its cancer-seeking peptide.The USFDA has granted Radiopharm investigational new drug approval which will allow the company to test its patented RAD301 integrin technology in the real world.

Adriatic Metals has drawn down the first $30m tranche from a $142.5m debt package to keep the wheels spinning on its Vares silver mine development in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project has passed the halfway mark of construction, is fully-funded and is on track to begin processing by September 2023. The company is also committing to legacy projects in a once-thriving nearby community.

Goldfields explorers Brightstar Resources and Kingwest Resources have agreed to merge in a move to consolidate the gold assets of each company and bring their combined operations a step closer to production. The agreement has been made through a scheme of arrangement under which Brightstar will acquire 100 per cent of the shares in Kingwest.

Asra Minerals has set up future revenue streams and a carbon credit plan in the Goldfields after completing the full ownership of its Tarmoola Pastoral Station about 25km northwest of Leonora in WA. The tenure takes in a massive 170,000-plus hectare ground position and provides the company will a host of new revenue streams including accommodation, cattle sales and a carbon credit plan.

Infinity Mining has been granted a five-year extension to an exploration licence that is part of the company's Panorama project in the Pilbara region of WA. The extension also includes two other adjoining tenements and has a new expiry date of 20 November 2027. Future exploration of the project is currently being planned with data to come from an earlier helicopter electromagnetic survey.

Auric Mining has recorded multiple nickel intercepts from its latest drilling program at the company's Chalice West project that it says shows potential for nickel sulphide mineralisation at the site. The explorer has already identified a 7km magnetic feature linked with anomalous rare earths in addition to a 5km strike length gold anomaly at the project 50km from Norseman.
