CAPE Clairault Wines’ Inter-national Red Wine Tasting Dinner will be held at its Willyabrup winery on 17 June, commencing at 6:30pm.
The dinner will allow wine lovers to taste, compare and contrast a variety of shiraz, pinot noir and cabernet sauvignon wines from Australia, the US and France.
The tastings will be conducted by wine educator Paul McArdle.
Clairault’s chef Andrea Ilott has designed a special four-course menu to complement the nine premium reds that will be tasted.
Dishes include soy-roasted duck breast with Japanese pumpkin and green tea noodles, and a barbecued veal cutlet with caramelised fennel, garlic Yorkshire pudding and beetroot chips.
Current releases from Clairault Wines include the 1999 sauvignon blanc and the 1999 semillon sauvignon blanc.
The winemakers say both are distinguished by intense fruit flavours and a crisp, zingy acidity.
