WESTERN Australian high-performance advocate group iVEC has announced the successful recipients of its Industry Uptake Grant Scheme. iVEC is a joint venture between CSIRO, Central TAFE, Curtin University of Technology, The University of Western Australia and Murdoch University, and is supported by the WA government. Through the grant scheme, iVEC is co-funding three projects extending the areas of software development, surgery and geology, aimed at promoting the use and uptake of high-performance computing and visualisation by industry in WA. The successful projects are: • X10 – Distributed software framework: Phinar Software; • 3D stereoscopic visualisation of abdominal aortic aneurysm and stent graft: Assessment of role in preoperative planning of fenestrated stent graft: Curtin University of Technology & Endovascular Therapies; and • 3D visualisation and analysis of geological objects: UWA-CET, CSIRO EM, Fractal Technologies, Royal Perth Hospital, ISA Technologies, Australia Synchrotron & the Perth Mint.
