THE Wyllie Group has engaged Gerard Daniels in an executive search to bolster its leadership team as the company enters a new era after the recent death of Bill Wyllie. The new position, general manager of Wyllie Group’s mergers and acquisitions division, will report directly to managing director Melissa Wyllie, and be responsible for driving that side of the private group. The position within the group may signal the Wyllie Group’s intention to be active in pursuing key strategic investments. The Wyllie Group has interests across a range of industry sectors including property, hospitality, retail, venture capital and equity markets. Mr Wyllie founded the company after returning to Perth following three successful decades as a business leader in Asia. The group has been built on an investment strategy focused largely on property-linked Western Australian assets. Mr Wyllie was listed in the BRW Rich 200 list in 2004 with a net worth of $423 million.
