THE construction industry accounted for almost half of all working days lost in Aust-ralia in the 12 months ending February, says the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

During February, WA accounted for 4 per cent of working days lost in Australia. New South Wales, by comparison, accounted for 85 per cent of working days lost.

For the 12 months, working days lost in WA increased by 33 per cent from the preceding year to 60,700.

The construction industry was the largest contributor, increasing by 119 per cent.
