Aberdeen-headquartered energy services firm Wood Group PSN has won a contract with Woodside Petroleum to provide engineering and construction management services at its Karratha Gas Plant Life Extension program, for an undisclosed amount.

Under the terms of the deal, Wood Group will also provide modification and refurbishment services to Woodside’s production projects group, including all of its onshore and offshore assets.

Wood Group has more than 2,000 employees situated around Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore and Malaysia.

“This new contract deepens our presence in Western Australia, which is well timed against the local market transition we expect from greenfield construction to production support services,” Wood Group Australia and Asia Pacific managing director Andrew Stewart said.

“We are excited to be working with Woodside in a relationship centred on consistent, predictable delivery services across their onshore and offshore asset base.

“This new contract adds to recent awards at Papua New Guinea, Malaysia and Bass Strait.”

In August 2012, Wood Group was awarded a $10 million contract to construct computerised maintenance management systems for Royal Dutch Shell’s Prelude floating liquefied natural gas facility, which processes gas from fields off of WA’s Kimberley coast.
