AUSTRALASIAN Gold Mines NL has entered into a formal agreement to acquire 40 per cent of WirelessNet Pty Ltd.
WirelessNet are specialists in the sale, installation and integration of telecommunications infrastructure hardware and software required to support systems such as wireless application protocol technologies.
Australasian Gold Mines managing director Michael Fotios said the company was keen to partake in the communications revolution.
“WAP technology is the gateway to a new world of mobile data,” Mr Fotios said.
“It provides a universal standard which enables users to easily access web-based interactive information services and applications from the screens of their mobile phones.”
WirelessNet has negotiated an authorised resellers’ agreement with Nokia Internet Communications Inc through which WirelessNet will sell a range of Nokia product groups in Australia and New Zealand.
