Winery clinches big sale
WA winery Salitage has clinched the largest export sale of the Pemberton region.

The company has sold over $250,000 worth of wine to South Korea.

Salitage was the pioneer winery in Pemberton and, while it currently exports to fifteen countries, this sale is seen as a market breakthrough.

Exports of the wines will go into five-star hotels, restaurants and premium retail outlets.

Commerce and Trade Minister Hendy Cowan said the success of Salitage was a good omen.

“We have a premium product in this State that competes with the best on an international level,” Mr Cowan said.

WA exported $13.2 million of wine in 1998-99 – up 18 per cent on the previous year.
