George Weston Foods has expanded its Western Australian operations by acquiring the Adelphi and Globe smallgoods brands from the privately owned Craig Mostyn Group.
The manufacture of these products will be transferred from Bellevue, where 70 staff are presently employed, to George Weston’s Spearwood plant.
George Weston regional executive Derek Smith said the company planned to invest $2 million upgrading the Spearwood plant, following last year’s $3 million upgrade.
The expansion will allow Spearwood to manufacture small-goods for WA and interstate markets.
