West Perth joins Oyster Bar family

HOSPITALITY industry stalwart Warren Mead has acquired West Perth restaurant Savoia from flamboyant restaurateur Davide Bianchi.

WA Business News understands that Mr Mead has purchased the business for $600,000.

While Mr Mead would not comment on the future direction of Savoia until settlement takes place at the end of the month, he did confirm it would take its place under The Oyster Bar banner alongside LinQ and Mead’s.

Mr Mead has had a successful two-decade history in creating and maintaining some of Perth’s most acclaimed restaurants.

His first restaurant purchase was in the mid-80s when he acquired Jessica’s at The Hyatt.

He went on to either own or co-own numerous establishments including Jo Jo’s River Restaurant, the Esplanade Hotel, the Surf Club Café, CoCo’s, and Black Tom’s Bar and Grill.

Mr Mead’s recent purchase takes his current restaurant portfolio to three.
