WESFARMERS contribution to arts was formerly recognised at the 2000 State Art Sponsorship Awards on Tuesday night when they were presented with the Award for Sponsorship Vision.
“We feel this is a great award that recognises companies that have developed an integrated, and a strategic approach to arts sponsorship,” said Helen Carroll, Manager of Westfarmers Arts.
Westfarmers Ltd have sponsored the arts for many years and in 1998 they decided to consolidate the company’s sponsorship under the trading name of Westfarmers Arts.
Since then they have developed an arts sponsorship policy that strives to put funding into peak performing bodies in the arts that will benefit all West Australians.
“Sponsorship of the Arts has been really positive for both Westfarmers and the arts in Western Australia” The results from market research at Westfarmers sponsored events has shown “good and positive recognition of Westfarmers” said Ms Carroll.
Other businesses that received awards on the night were Thumbprint Australia, Heytesbury Pty Ltd, for Outstanding Long Term Commitment by a patron, Hamersley Iron, Fremantle Football Club and David Hides as Outstanding Individual Patron.
