Bluegem managing director Bruno Cozzi said the greatest barrier to embracing electronic commerce was fear of the unknown.
“By mid to late 2000 the benefits of the Internet to business will apply universally,” Mr Cozzi said.
“Retailers who now feel they have nothing to gain from a global presence will enjoy the benefits of free advertising, dynamic catalogue content and virtually having their shop in customers’ homes.
“Education and free entry-level web site offers such as ours go a long way towards dispelling those concerns.”
Bluegem will host the free web sites for up to six months.
Eligibility will be based on a simple questionnaire.
Mr Cozzi said the seminar to be presented by Bluegem at the conference, Website Creation For The Complete Idiot, would help “allay some of the myths, hype and fear surrounding e-commerce”.
Established in August 1998, Bluegem E-Link provides a range of e-commerce services with a focus on training, marketing, multimedia and graphic design supported by experience in software development and network planning.
