children inherit the money and wealth practices of their parents. They copy their parents’ examples, actions, beliefs, habits, arguments, consumption patterns, struggles and achievements. The problem is that, after a 40 year productive work life, 96.9 per cent of parents retire poor and are financially unable to support themselves.

Financial literacy is becoming increasingly important. Depending on the decisions you make and the actions you take today, financial freedom can either be a future reality or remain a dream. Children are our future yet there is little available that teaches them how to take control of money and be better off financially.

If you want your children to grow in knowledge and achieve different ends then you must show them how to make money do the working rather than reinforce the old message of ‘you must work for your money’. The best gifts you can give children are guidance, encouragement, and support to do things differently. Show them what they need to know so they can have all the things they want in the future.
