Water land

THE Water Corporation is seeking interest in a four-hectare pocket of land in Shenton Park.

The Water Corporation is in the process of selling land all over the metropolitan area that is no longer needed for their operations.

However, the land in Shenton Park is for lease for industrial uses, Water Corporation corporate Executive Group communications consultant Phil Kneebone said.

FPD Savills senior industrial negotiator Max Jones said the land offered a rare opportunity for an industrial business that wanting a near-city base.

“The land will be cheaper to rent than in the traditional areas like Osborne Park,” Mr Jones said.

“It’s a bit of an oddball one and you’re a little bit away on the industrial side of things, but it would be ideal for engineering-type activities or warehouse distribution uses.”

The land is about four hectares in size with buildings on it abutting some agricultural land.

“It’s the last place you’d expect to find an engineering works, however there are no noise or pollution problems because it’s not abutting residential land,” Mr Jones said.
