Water Exports

THIS year is being promoted as the International Year of Fresh Water, and the Australian Trade Commission is hoping to use the water focus to link Australian water industry companies with potential Asian buyers and business contacts at Ozwater 2003, to be held in Perth April 6-10.

Ozwater 2003 is the major biennial event of the Australian Water Association. Austrade representatives from India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam will conduct a series of Asian market briefings.

With the theme of this year’s event focused on ‘Innovations in Water’, Austrade, together with the WA Department of Industry and Resources, will be looking to help local companies to generate deals with some of the overseas companies at the event.

Austrade’s Trade Commissioner in Jakarta, Bob Carmichael, said Australian water industry companies had a good track record in environmentally friendly business.
