Walsh gets to work with Bass Metals

VETERAN former Perth listings manager of the Australian Stock Exchange, Tony Walsh, has taken his first public company position since his shock departure earlier this month after 14 years in the job. Mr Walsh’s appointment as company secretary of resources company Bass Metals Ltd follows his establishment of a consultancy offering corporate advisory and company secretarial services, along with non-executive directorships. His Bass appointment is effective from June 6. Mr Walsh, a chartered accountant and MBA, oversaw the listing of about 500 IPOs and 200 backdoor listings during his time as listings manager, as well as providing corporate governance training and advice to financial advisers, professional institutions, boards of directors and company secretaries. Bass Metals has a portfolio of mineral assets in north-west Tasmania, including the advanced Mt Charter gold project and Que River base metals project. At Mt Charter, the company is targeting the potential for a large-scale, moderate grade gold deposit in the million ounce-plus range. At Que River, Bass is evaluating mining and treatment options for its zinc, lead, silver, gold resources there.
