Career management specialist Annette Walker has gone out on her own, establishing a home business in Manning.
Under mutual agreement with her previous employer Tasker Correy, Ms Walker will provide workplace career coaching and corporate counselling as the company’s primary contractor.
However, through her own business, Insight Career Management, she will expand her private client work and branch into upper school career guidance.
Managing and delivering a national pilot program over a period of six years at the Australian and Western Australian Institutes of Sport first drew Ms Walker’s attention to the satisfaction of working with young clients.
She has been previously contracted in a career-counselling role to various sporting organisations, including the Western Australian Cricket Association and the Fremantle Football Club, and has held voluntary management positions with other senior and junior sporting groups.
Ms Walker’s career management experience includes business development, change management and outplacement, but prior to this she also worked in real estate, in agriculture, operating properties across two states, and in insurance and project management.
She is now completing a Graduate Diploma in Human Services (counselling) concurrent with a Graduate Certificate in Career Education, and is president of the WA division of the Australian Association of Career Counsellors.
