WACOSS Conference
On Thursday June 17 to Friday June 18 the Western Australian Council of Social Service will be conducting the 2004 WACOSS Conference, at the Sheraton Hotel.
The theme for this years conference is Bring on the Change – New Directions in Community, and has the objective of examining what our community needs to do to reach its potential – to provide quality services, to advocate more effectively for social justice, to educate the larger community, and to find the material resources we need to perform our work with excellence, integrity and accountability.
Keynote speakers at the conference include, Indigenous Working Group for the Review of Government Services Provision – NSW convener Robert Fitzgerald; Sydney Morning Herald political editor – online Margo Kingston; St. Luke’s Anglicare – Victoria chief executive officer and Australian Council of Social Services president Andrew McCallum; trend forecaster and futurist Annie MacBeth; and Aboriginal Housing and Infrastructure Council chair Peter Yu.
Registration for the conference can be made with the Western Australian Council of Social Service for $426 for members, $448 for non-members or $678 for corporate or government attendees for both days of the conference.
