WA Business News has won third prize for Best Newspaper, Small Tabloids at the Association of Area Business Publication’s Editorial Excellence Awards, announced at its annual convention in Baltimore, US.
The bronze medal win brought the house down as WA Business News is virtually the only non-US member of the AAPB, an organisation that represents 65 business-focused publications.
In awarding the bronze medal the judges praised WA Business News for being in keeping with the region it covers.
The judging panel stated that WA Business News was a publication “with attitude, bold in content and design and, therefore, well-suited for the region it serves”.
WA Business News publisher Harry Kleyn and his fellow director Elton Swarts were on hand to receive the award in person at the two-day convention.
“This is recognition that WA Business News is in the same league as its peers in North America, where the area business publishing market is much more mature and developed,” Mr Kleyn said.
