WA win from CSIRO technology deal

Western Australia may be a beneficiary of a CSIRO decision to sell technology that removes phosphorous from water to Sydney-based IMT Holdings Ltd.

The CSIRO will receive cash and scrip for its Phoslock technology which was developed in conjuntion with the WA government.

The federal science body will also receive a royalty each quarter which the state government will share.

IMT said it was in discussions with the WA government with regard to converting some of the consideration for the technology into a supply of Phoslock, which aims to stop remove the cause of algal bloom.
