The February figure is a 1.9 per cent dip from the previous month's 8,558 units.
In comparison to the previous corresponding period, sales fell 17.6 per cent from 10,189 units.
Nationally, new motor vehicle sales fell by 3.5 per cent, seasonally adjusted, to 73,190 units in February, from 75,879 units in January.
Compared to the 2008 February result, sales have dropped by a seasonally adjusted 18.6 per cent.
