AUSSIE Home Loans announced a $5 million profit for the financial year, 1995-96, and overtook ANZ Banking Group and Westpac in home lending. Chief executive John Symond said by writing more than $300 million loans a month, the company would overtake Westpac as a home lender by the end of the year. He said each loan netted Aussie and its funding arranger, Macquarie Bank subsidiary PUMA Ltd, a profit of about 75 basis points.
